If you have a dog with behavior issues, I encourage you to employ Cesar Millan's techniques. I've been doing so for about a week and what an improvement it has made! I'll post more about that on Sunday.

Ceaser Milan is a professional at what he does; although some methods that he uses can be practiced by the layman, it is far better to hire a professional dog trainer that subscribes to Ceaser Milan's philosophy. By hiring a professional dog trainer, you can limit your worries of being incorrect in your diagnosis and prognosis and are able to ask him or her questions related specifically to your puppy or dog.
I have mixed feelings about professional dog trainers. I'm sure there are many good ones, but I have not had a good experience when hiring a dog trainer. I hired one once, he came once, and didn't work out. So I wasted a lot of money for no return on my investment.
And I find many dog trainers to be defensive, and instead of embracing what Cesar tries to teach, put him down instead.
Yes, I'm sure there are different techniques to train dogs, but for those of us who can't afford the high fees (and don't want lame experiences) of a dog trainer, there's no reason for people not to sincerely try what Cesar teaches.
Just as Cesar can't be in your house all the time, neither can a trainer, so it's up to the dog owner to invest the time themselves in working with the dog. They're the ones who have to bond and trust each other.
