I often ask myself what will happen if I never complete the stories in my head. If I never finish those novels that are dying to get out.
Sure. The world will go on spinning as long as God allows. But will I have missed the chance to have my work publicly acknowledged through sales? Will my ideas die when I do? Will I miss having reached that person or persons who might have been touched by the message in my book?
Who knows. What I do know is that every author has their own unique voice, their own background, knowledge and experience that they bring to a story, and though writing is hard work, it is well worth pursuing, even if it feels we’re being defeated at every turn.
With that in mind, I wanted to share a quote I stumbled across today:
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas A. Edison, US inventor (1847 - 1931)
Happy writing!

what a great post on the heels of Nanowrimo. I have had keyboard-o-phobia this week since the big write is over. But back to the keying-board for me. : )
Loved the Edison quote. Mind if I steal it and post it on FB?
Please do. Funny--when I stumbled across that quote my first thought was "If this doesn't apply to writers I don't know what does." 8-)
